Recently I was interviewed by One Lily, Inc. to offer some of my insights on simple health tips and what it takes to run a small “brick and mortar” business (that has now expanded to include a web presence).
Here is a link to my interview:

I like the suggestion to get up & stretch for a few minutes every hour. I spend most of my day in front of the computer, and usually try to take a few minutes staring off at something in the distance just to reduce eye strain. I think I’ll do both (stretch & stare) at the same time, giving both mind & body a break!

Great tips, I especially liked the part about staying small – it just makes it easier to take care of customers and make them feel like you care, because you really do!

Great interview and great tips for new business owners!!!
Leadership Is A Choice
Stretching away from the computer screen and desk chair is excellent advice. I keep a tennis ball on my desk near my computer as a visual reminder to “get up!” throughout the day. Helps to keep muscles from getting locked and helps relieve eye strain too.

Gary!!
I totally agree with your advice. Don’t jump into ‘deep water’ as we say here. Step by step, day by day we can grow our business without any rush and pressure. Great people around us is important too – good friends will support us, give us new inspirations and ideas. Good to have some ‘motivationators’ 🙂
Good luck with Your business Gary!!!
Love your comment about prefering to go without a meal than a day without reading. My friends have always teased me because I say that I don’t panic when the refrigerator gets bare, but I do panic if my “to be read” pile of books gets low!!!

Getting up from your desk every hour is the best advice in our sedentary society. Sitting too much is the most dangerous thing most people do every day.
